Season Review

Season record: 21-12

Synopsis: After struggling with injuries midseason that left us with a 3 and 8 record, the U14 girls picked up the intensity and got healthy again. We concluded the season with a strong 11-game winning streak. Congratulations to all the girls on a very good 21 and 12 season against very good Division I programs.

Very proud of you ladies. GREAT JOB! Continue with the work ethic. It pays off.

Season record: 7-3

New England College Showcase

Synopsis: The U14 girls had another very good outing, finishing in second place while playing against some very good National programs at the NE College Showcase. In the first game the girls faced a very good BSB team out of RI. After a few lead changes the girls took control of this one, running away with a 44-27 win. In their second game, the girls faced The Berkshire Huskies out of MA, and again with a very good defensive effort the girls won 44-36.

On Sunday we went up against the season's premier opponent so far--last year's Junior National Runner-up and Nationals fifth place finisher out of New Jersey, The Central Jersey Hawks. In the first game they stunned our girls with a 16 to 2 start from which we never recovered, losing the game 44-24. In Sunday's second game, the U14 Division Championship game, we faced them again. In the first half, we managed to stay within a point, 18-17. In the second half, however, they once again proved to be a little too strong for us and they won the game 42-26. The game was a lot more than what the final score reflects. The girls took a giant leap forward in the National picture this weekend.

Congratulations! Great job once again, Ladies.

Season record: 4-1

Go Hard or Go Home

Synopsis:Our U15 girls were runners up in our division at the Go Hard or Go Home Tournament. In the first game, the girls faced little opposition from the CT Lady Knights, cruising to a 49-7 win. In the second game were were challenged as we faced a very good RI Lady Cyclones U15 team. Needing to erase a 10-point first-half deficit, we turned up the defensive pressure and advanced to the Championship game with a 36-29 win. In the third game, we faced another very good Cyclones team--their U14 girls who came in with a 16-1 record. Plagued by defensive fouls, we suffered a loss in the Championship game with the Cyclones taking it 35-30. It was a very good weekend for the girls considering the obstacles we had to face.

Great job, Ladies. Remember, it is not WHO we play.
It is HOW we play.

April 3/4

Season record: 2-0

Central Mass Shamrocks Easter Classic

Synopsis: In the first game we faced the host team and the girls really looked at times in mid-season shape as they cruised to a 64-19 win in a very good all-around performance by the girls specially defensively. The second game was a lot tougher than the first one, although the final score didn't reflect it. The Nashoba Valley Comets managed to stay within 1 point in the first half. At the end of the half the score was 14-13 but in the second half the girls once again stepped up the defensive pressure, running away with a score of 44 -19 . Very good defensive job in both games only allowing 19 points per game.
