Roughriders Rumble – 2008 Updated Rules

GAME RULES:
•        U10 division will be two halves, 20 minute running time – All other divisions will be two sixteen minute halves, stop time
•        High School rules will be used with ten second backcourt violations
•        Four timeouts per game (2-Full, 2-30 Sec) – Timeouts do NOT carryover into overtime – There will be one Full timeout
allowed during each overtime period
•        Overtime – Three-minute periods until a winner is decided
•        Fouls – Teams will shoot one-and-one on the 7th foul and two shots on the 10th foul
•        Teams shall arrive at least thirty minutes prior to scheduled starting time – If you are late a forfeit will be declared at
the official starting time
•        There will be score books provided for each court and must be filled out five minutes prior to the game start time –
Last names and jersey numbers must be written down – Only players on the roster at the start of the game will be allowed
to play
•        Home team is the first team listed on the schedule and must provide a scorekeeper – Visiting team must provide
someone to run the clock
•        Mercy Rule – Running clock and only half court defense if a team has a 20 point lead in the second half – Time will run
until the point difference is less than 20 or a time out is called – First offense is a warning – Second and subsequent offense
is a technical foul

TEAM RULES:
•        Each team is to bring home and away jerseys – Home team wears white
•        Teams must clean their own bench after each game
•        Each team is responsible for bringing their own basketballs
•        Only players listed on the roster are allowed on the bench

EJECTIONS:
•        Any player ejected for fighting by the officials will be prohibited from participating in the next scheduled game – A
player ejected from a second game for fighting will be suspended for the remainder of the tournament
•        If a coach is ejected for fighting by the officials, he/she will be prohibited from all gyms for the remainder of the
tournament

TIE-BREAKER RULES:
•        If two teams are tied within their pool, head-to-head competition between the teams determines the winner
•        If more than two teams are tied, or head-to-head does not apply, scoring differential will apply – Maximum score
differential per game is 15 – Forfeits will be considered a 15-0 game
•        After applying the score differential to multiple teams, if two teams remained tied we will revert back to head-to-head
competition
•        The next tie-breaker will be least points allowed
•        If a tie still exists, a coin toss will break the tie

ADMISSION:
•        $4.00 per day for admission to all gyms
•        10-years-old and under are free
